Anastasia Whitley
Hey there—I’m Ana Strangebird, a tattoo artist based in Virginia Beach. Before tattooing, I worked in mental health and substance use recovery, and staying person-centered in my art practice is important to me. In a time when rage-bait and social media often drive visibility, tattoo conventions feel like a breath of fresh air. I thrive in face-to-face spaces, where real connection happens—-and yea, I like to think I’m a good time, but you should decide that for yourself!
My tattoo work is expressive and fine-art–influenced, guided by thoughtful composition, intentional placement, and intuitive use of color, value, and line. I enjoy the energy of walk-ins and conventions and always have pre-drawn flash available, while my custom work is designed to reflect the individual wearing it. I work comfortably in color or black and grey, from fine line to American traditional. Some of my favorite projects are cover-ups and reworks of older tattoos. I don't really believe in too small or too big for a convention, so just message me if you're worried.
Although I’m an artist, I'm also a mother of three, so I don’t see your body as a canvas; I see tattooing as an exchange of trust, presence, and care. We're all just people trying to make it out here, so I appreciate you stopping by my bio!
